Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition Description

When it was released in 1996, the first Diablo video game started the hack and slash genre. Since then, Blizzard released two more entries in the now famous hack and slash series. The latest release in the series, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is the first expansion pack for the third main entry in the series. It was released on August 19, 2014 for the current generation of consoles, Xbox One and PS4, as part of the Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition. The expansion adds many features, such as a new class, a fifth act, and an ‘adventure mode’ with random bounties and dungeons. Some of you may be happy to know that Diablo III: Reaper of Souls also increases the level cap from 60 to 70. While graphically it is similar to Diablo III (which isn’t surprising since it obviously uses the same engine), Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is worth it for its many new features.

According to Blizzard, the Adventure Mode is Diablo III: Reaper of Souls’ main feature. The other features are also important, as you now have a new character class, the Crusader, specialized in holy magic, defensive play and large weapons. The fifth act is also a big addition as it allows you to follow Nephalem through the Pandemonium Fortress and what’s left of Westmarch, in order to stop Malthael. But as mentioned above, the biggest addition to the game is the Adventure Mode. In Adventure Mode you can explore all available regions from the game and you will encounter random bounties and dungeons (named Nephalem Rifts) plus a new artisan, the Mystic. In order to be able to play Adventure Mode, you will have to unlock it first by completing the campaign (with the new fifth act).

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls was received very well, both critically and commercially. Not only did it receive high ratings from most gaming magazines, but it also topped the UK sales chart for the week of its release, with almost 80% of copies being sold on PS4 and Xbox One. The Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition brought both Diablo 3 and the Reaper of Souls expansion to the current generation of consoles Xbox One and PS4 and if you are a fan of the hack and slash genre, you owe it to yourself to play Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.
