Mad Max Description

Mad Max is a video game developed by Avalanche Studios and based on the latest Mad Max film.The game is a third person action video shooting game, set and played in an open world environment. The game is set in a post apocalyptic wasteland featuring terrains like canyons, deserts and caves. You control Max Rockatansky as he passes through the wastelands to seek revenge on the raiders who robbed from him and to also build an ultimate car called ”magnum opus”.

The game was released on 1st of September 2015 in the UK. It has a heavy emphasis on vehicle combat and requires the player to do a lot of driving while upgrading the car by adding weapons such as mounted canyons, grappling hooks and flame throwers. While exploring you can upgrade the car by scavenging weapons in the desert through hijacking or stealing cars and car parts belonging to the enemies. The enemies hop on top of the players car to make it explode but this can be avoided by adding upgrades like spikes around the car.

The game has two modes one can chose to play, fast mode or slow mode. While engaging in combat the player can still drive, load and aim weapons towards the enemies. If the player’s car is destroyed he exits the car which is then repaired by Chumbucket.

Mad Max received mixed reviews at launch. Some well known reviewers thought the story of the game was surprising and genuine and the story was engaging enough for players to progress, while others thought the game was weak, criticising the uneven performances of the voice actors. Those who love speed, cars and video game violence will find some fun to be had here.
